Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly added to their defensive rankings by signing an African international star with Champions League experience!
Chiefs have four signings thus far
Out of the four new signings, three are defensively minded, including a goalkeeper. As it stands, Chiefs have signed the trio of Bongani Sam, Fiacre Ntwari and Rushwin Dortley to boost their defensive. So far, it has only been the latter that has been unveiled by Amakhosi, this ahead of their 4-0 loss to Yanga SC. Neither of them did come on though, and had to watch the Toyota Cup loss to the Tanzanian giant. Sam is the only one of the trio who joined early enough to go to Turkey with the squad.
Chiefs then finally signed an attacker in former Mamelodi Sundowns star Gaston Sirino who joins on a two-year deal. But it seems like, even though there is an appetite for more attackers, they aren’t done with defenders either. Recently, this publication reported that the club maintained interested in defender Inacio Miguel. He is a right-footed player who is also comfortable playing as a defensive midfielder. He currently has five caps for the Angolan national team, having made his debut in 2020. His current club is Petro de Luanda who now, according to Unplayable, have sold him to Amakhosi.
Miguel set to be the fourth?
Having made light of the rumour linking the player and Chiefs, their X page went back to the initial post. They then followed that up with a post simply stating ‘Khosified’. This of course, being their way of confirming that Miguel is now an Amakhosi player.
No official confirmation has been given by Chiefs on the signing of Miguel. But this doesn’t come as a surprise, with Nasreddine Nabi reportedly not happy with his current centre-back options. It now remains to be seen if it is true and if the player joining the team will be announced soon. Would another experienced centre back be the anser Amakhosi fans? please feel free to leave your answers below.
